Melinda Steffy lectured on Tuesday where she spoke about her art and specifically her use of the website www.etsy.com. I enjoyed her talk because she had energy and seemed to love what she was doing. I was very curious to see how some artists sell their work online. The website she used seemed easy to navigate and she explained it with plenty detail. It's important to know how to be found on the internet and build up a reputation and a following.

These are the two images I picked from the screen-print project. I really liked doing screen printing and will definitely be taking the class in the future.

Tank Man is a very recognizable image in the United States as a form of rebellion. When we watched the documentary on it, I found it very interesting that they wanted to destroy all the footage of the incident. So my picture portrays the Tank Man being seen through a security camera.
I forgot to blog about Doug Bucci when he spoke a week ago and I am disappointed because I really enjoyed his talk and don't remember as much as I would have liked to. Unlike some of the other speakers we have had, Doug was energetic, walked around, and seemed to be having fun spreading his story. He enjoys jewelry making as well as other art processes. Being a diabetic, he has learned to live with it and corporate it in his art through technology. He seemed like a very down-to-earth guy and I am glad he came in.
